Music Program - School of Arts and Design
In a caring and nurturing environment, the SFCC Music Program provides learner-centered instruction. Our music curriculum is designed to meet the needs of a broad range of students. You will find an opportunity to pursue specialized instruction in voice, guitar, and piano in small class settings.
Music Theory and Music Appreciation classes provide students with a basic understanding of the language and history of music. Enthusiastic and expert faculty teach classes ranging from beginning level to more advanced levels. Music classes with multiple sections meet on different days and times to accommodate a variety of student schedules. Some classes are also offered in different formats, on campus and online.
Chorus and Chamber Singers, with over 25 years of excellence, offer students, faculty, and staff an opportunity to make music while singing with others. Both choral ensembles present public performances each semester.
Courses offered as part of this program include "lab" courses (designated by an "L" after the course number) in voice, choral singing, guitar, and piano, as well as “lecture” classes in music appreciation and music theory.
