Road Improvements and Construction Updates for SFCC
Campus Construction Update 1/23/12
College Drive Westbound Lane is Open
Now that the College's new main entrance is complete, SFCC has begun construction of the North Entrance into the campus off of College Drive. This project includes construction of a new right-turn deceleration lane on College Drive serving the new entrance. The new entrance is scheduled for completion this spring.
ROAD AND PARKING IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION
In January 2011, SFCC's Governing Board passed a resolution committing the college to actively participate in a county-proposed joint task force addressing long-term solutions for area road and traffic infrastructure. As a result, we are a member of the Community College District Roads Task Force along with county and regional officials, neighborhood leaders and technical experts.
See illustration of the improvements at right under MAPS, Roadway Improvements.
Please look over the documents provided here for more information. We will post additional information when it becomes available.
Prarie Dog Relocation
In order to keep our campus safe for our students and employees, as well as to protect the prairie dogs that have started populating our campus over the past few years from harm, the college has found it necessary to relocate the prairie dogs.
Be assured that SFCC is committed to humane relocation and has contracted with a certified prairie dog relocation specialist that previously worked with thecity as well as with Santa Fe Public Schools.
