First Year Experience - Linked Classes
Linked Classes/Learning Communities (LCs):
Two or more classes tied together as co-requisites. LCs allow students to complete core college-level classes quickly so they can take classes toward their major in less time. Some advantages are taking two classes with the same group of students and instructors, shared assignments, and faster completion of pre-requisite courses.
Two current types of Linked Classes include:
- Accelerated, Linked Classes in English or math (such as English 109 and English 111)
- Learning Community courses which pair an English, Math, or Student Success class with a content course, such as Psychology 111
