School of Liberal Arts and Core Studies - Spanish Language Program
Associate in Arts (AA)
About the Program
With an Associate in Arts in Spanish Language from Santa Fe Community College, you can communicate with native Spanish speakers from all over the world. In any field, whether it is in construction, business or medicine your Spanish background will be invaluable. The Hispanic population in the United States has grown by 60 percent in just one decade and so have the number of businesses that need Spanish-speaking employees.
Our Spanish A.A. Degree offers options in both Spanish as a Second (foreign) language and Heritage Spanish. The Heritage Language program recognizes the invaluable cultural and linguistic resources of our local Hispanos. Spanish is an official language of New Mexico and bilingual employees often receive larger salaries than their non-Spanish-speaking counterparts. In Santa Fe, the demand for bilingual employees is great in every field from health care and education to government and tourism.
