Interior Design - School of Arts, Design, and Media Arts
About the Program
Interested in pursuing a career designing interiors? SFCC’s Interior Design Program introduces you to interior design and textiles, and prepares you to work as a commercial and industrial designer, design director or set and exhibit designer.
The difference between a room and a visually exciting interior involves creative choices in color, texture, form and use of space. Interior designers know the difference because design is their passion. With a degree from Santa Fe Community College, you can build a solid foundation for a successful career in interior design. Students in the program study architecture, computer-aided design, interior design, kitchen and bath design, lighting and office planning. In addition, students learn to set up interior design businesses from the ground up.
Interior Design faculty members are licensed interior designers, architects, decorators, stylists and product designers who offer practical, accurate and up-to-date instruction. SFCC is the only public college in New Mexico to offer an interior design degree, earning you eligibility for the National Council of Interior Design Qualifications exam. SFCC Interior Design students frequently win top honors in national competitions.
