Opportunities To Contribute
There are a number of ways you can contribute to the LVSF mission. Read on, and choose the contribution that best suits you.
Become a Tutor
Our volunteers come from all walks of life. What they have in common is the desire to help an adult improve their literacy skills and a commitment to spend at least 9 months working with a student. Tutors are carefully interviewed, trained and matched with students. They receive ongoing support from LVSF staff and opportunities to improve their tutoring skills through workshops and in-service trainings. Non-tutor volunteers also assist LVSF with public relations, administrative tasks and fund-raising.
To get information about becoming a Literacy Volunteer, please click on the links below. If you prefer a more traditional approach (i.e., paper), you may call 428-1353 for a packet, or you can stop by our office in Room 514A in the Literacy Volunteers/Adult Basic Education area of SFCC.

Make a Donation
LVSF is happy to accept donations from the community. Books, services (e.g., food for events, advertisements for activities), and (of course) monetary contributions are all welcome. Checks or credit card contributions can be made in person or through the mail.
Become a Member of the LVSF Board
Are you passionate about literacy in your community? Do you enjoy talking to people about programs that address this issue? Would you feel comfortable asking people for donations to such programs? If so, consider becoming a member of the LVSF Board of Directors. General meetings are once a month, with committee meetings scheduled as needed. Become a member today and make a difference in the Santa Fe community.
