Financial Aid

SFCC's Financial Aid Office is here to help you get the financial assistance you need to complete your education. There are many scholarship and loan opportunities available. We'll explain the forms and let you know about important deadlines for filing them.

Apply for a Student Loan

All new and returning students who wish to receive student loans for the 2010/2011 academic year will need to complete Entrance Loan Counseling, a Master Promissory Note and the Loan Application.

All three steps must be complete for your application to be processed.

It is your responsibility to follow up on your application status. Click on the following link to proceed with the loan application process: https://www.sfcc.edu/forms/loan

FINANCIAL AID DISBURSEMENTS

Upcoming Disbursement Date: September 20, 2010

Your financial aid funds will be applied directly to your SFCC account and the Cashier's Office will create a refund check after your balance has been paid.

Fall 2010 financial aid for all classes beginning August 21 through September 10 will be disbursed on September 20th in the Jemez Room 1 from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For all late starting classes aid will be disbursed each Wednesday at the Cashier's Office between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. approximately a week after the first date of attendance. Checks not picked up during the designated times will be mailed to the student's address on record.

Please update your mailing address at the Enrollment and Student Services Center.

  1. The Financial Aid office will mail a Letter of Award notifying you of the amount of your financial aid. Review the letter and ask us any questions you may have about your award(s).
  2. You are no longer required to sign the Letter of Award or return it to the Financial Aid Office.
  3. Make sure we have your current mailing address. Contact Enrollment Services to make any changes to your address.

Go to the SFCC Tuition and Fees web page.

Financial Aid Deadlines
Some grant and scholarship funds are limited, so we encourage students to file as soon as posssible to maximize their award. Students should fill out their FAFSA by May 1st each year for the upcoming Fall term. If you don't apply by May 1st, your application will still be processed and you will be considered for whatever funding we still have available.
