SFCC Workforce Training - Environmental Health and Safety Training (OSHA)

Customized Training and Consultation

Let SFCC’s Environmental Health and Safety Training perform an on-site evaluation of your company’s adherence to federal and state employee training requirements (OSHA, EPA, DOT) and help you bring your facility into compliance. We’ll work with you to develop a customized training program that meets the needs of your organization and workforce.

Certified Renovator (RRP), Initial (8 hours)

Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
Cost: $175 

This EPA-approved course provides the required training for individuals to be Certified Renovators in order to perform lead-safe work practices in target housing and child-occupied facilities. SFCC is an EPA-accredited training provider.

Certified Renovator (RRP), Refresher, (4 hours)

Time: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cost: $125

Certified Renovators must complete refresher training every 5 years to be updated on new requirements and developments in lead-safe work practices. This EPA-approved course provides Certified Renovators with the required training to maintain their EPA certification. SFCC is an EPA-accredited training provider. Pre-requisite: Certified Renovator.

OSHA 10-Hour Construction Standards

October 22-23, 2014

November 19-20, 2014

Time: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $250

This course teaches workers how to recognize and control construction site hazards. An OSHA Construction Safety and Health 10-Hour card is issued to participants who successfully complete the class.

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Standards

September 29-October 2, 2014

October 14-17, 2014

November 11-14, 2014

Time: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $550

This course is designed for foremen, supervisors and/or managers responsible for implementing their company’s safety program. An OSHA Construction Safety and Health 30-Hour card is issued to participants who successfully complete the class.

HAZWOPER (40-Hour General Site Worker)

September 8-12, 2014

Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost: $675

This course is designed for workers involved in clean-up operations, emergency response operations and/or storage, disposal or treatment of hazardous waste. The topics covered include chemical and physical hazard recognition; hazard controls; selection of personal protective equipment; air monitoring; respiratory protection; site control; decontamination; field-specific operations (drum handling, trenching and excavation, etc.); and an introduction to emergency response.

HAZWOPER Annual Refresher (8 hours)

This refresher course is designed for workers involved in clean-up operations, emergency response operations and/or storage, disposal or treatment of hazardous waste who have already completed the introductory HAZWOPER training course.

Forklift Operator (8 hours)

Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost: $225

Classroom training and hands-on evaluation for workers who operate forklifts per 29 CFR 1910.178(i)1 requirements. Truck-related and environment-related topics are covered prior to practical exercise and evaluation. A Forklift Training card is issued after successful completion of a written exam and equipment operation evaluation.

About Janet Kerley, Instructor

Janet Kerley

Janet Kerley has been an OSHA-Authorized Instructor for Construction and General Industry Standards since 1989. She served as Primary Liaison for the Academy of Certified Hazardous Material Managers to the ANSI Committee Z490, which developed the ANSI Standard Accepted Criteria for Safety, Health and Environmental Training (ANSI Z490.1-2009). Janet is also the Program Director and Instructor for SFCC’s EPA-Certified Lead Training Program.
