Center for Learning Excellence
The Center for Learning Excellence (CLE) at SFCC directly supports, promotes, and enhances teaching and professional development for all employees. We foster innovation and excellence in learner-centered teaching and college-wide leadership. We coordinate activities aimed at supporting employee growth and communication. Distance Learning is also under the auspices of the Center for Learning Excellence.

We are a growing office and currently offer the following services:
- Consultations for design and instructional strategies utilizing instructional technology
- Orientation and training for students and faculty in the learning management system Canvas
- Annual program of workshops and seminars
- Convocation in Fall semesters
- Welcome Week in Spring semesters
- Quality Matters training and course review process
- Faculty technology lab
- Referrals to other support offices for assistance outside the CLE
In the future we will be providing:
- Comprehensive orientation for faculty and staff
- Breakfast or lunch “chalk talks”
- “Tech-jams” (demonstrations of new technology for the classroom)
- Online and in-class teaching certificates
- Process Mapping workshops
- Leadership Academy
- Learning repository in which college community contributes
- Publications about college teaching and other topics
- Publications and equipment resource center
