School of Education - Adult Basic Education Department
If you are 16 or older and not enrolled in high school, you can get free instruction in GED test preparation, English as a second language, and basic math, reading and writing through SFCC's Adult Basic Education classes.
You will be tested to determine your skill level and screened for learning difficulties, then we'll create a program just for you.
We offer both traditional classes and individualized instruction, plus a computer lab where you can focus on your specific learning needs.
Adult Basic Education also includes the Literacy Volunteers program that offers workplace, neighborhood and one-on-one tutoring. This can be an option for students who can't attend regular classes or are unable to use the lab.
