Career Resources for Today, Tomorrow and the Future

STORMY EMPLOYMENT FORECASTS
Economists, statisticians, politicians and the media have a lot of dour, melodramatic
stories and predictions these days.  Even your own work and job search experiences may make you think that you can’t find satisfying employment or envision a rewarding career.  Family, friends, colleagues, teachers and leaders may have lots of advice about what you should do.

These people aren’t career development professionals.  Modern career development isn’t merely about finding who’s hiring in town and getting you hired by that company, where if you do a good job you will get regular promotions and pay raises that allow you to support your lifestyle until you retire with a nice nest egg to rest and play.

So many people are discouraged and disappointed because that paradigm is out-of-date and hasn’t worked well for a long time — if it ever really did.  That’s why some career development professionals suggest that as many as 80% of employed people hate their jobs!

A SPARK TO YOUR FLAME
Career Development Facilitators are trained to help individuals examine their personal, family and economic needs, their experiences and dreams, and find a career path that fits their unique situation.  A Career Development Facilitator can help you discover your passions and how they might manifest into an exciting plan for a future full of opportunity where your goal is to enjoy your life now, instead of waiting until graduation, you find the perfect job, your children are grown, retirement or some other future event.
