Training Center Corporation
Santa Fe Community College Training Center Corporation
SFCC created the Training Center Corporation in the spring of 2005 under the New Mexico University Research Park Act. As a tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organization, the TCC can:
- Accept "loan funds" from the founding public college
- Acquire, hold and dispose of intellectual property and technological innovations
- Issue revenue bonds
- Buy and sell assets
- Borrow money
- Receive and administer grants
- Invest funds on deposit
- Bypass the state procurement process
- Have employees
- Receive bequests and gifts
More specifically, the Corporation allows the College to:
- Form partnerships with businesses and create cooperative technological ventures to foster local economic development and jobs
- Be competitive with other entities currently transmitting educational services into New Mexico
- Cooperatively market educational programs with businesses and other organizations
- Sign intellectual property rights (copyright) agreements with individuals or businesses
Projects implemented by the TCC include:
- Film Center
- Biomass Production and Distribution System
- Entrepreneurship Training Program
