Santa Fe Community College is fortunate to receive financial support from a wide variety of government agencies and philanthropic organizations. While we will not always list all of them here, SFCC is grateful for contributions of any size that help us in our mission to promote student success.

March 2011 - Title V Grant update from SFCC President Sheila Ortego

October 2010 - SFCC Awarded $3.19 Million Title V Grant to Help Hispanic, Low-Income Students.  SFCC has received new federal funding to help students overcome obstacles on the way to college graduation. The college will receive a $3.19 million U.S. Department of Education Title V grant over the next five years to provide support for Hispanic and low-income students to stay in school and improve academic skills in order to achieve degrees.  Read more...


August 2010 - SFCC Receives $1-million grant from U.S. Department of Education. The college recently received notification of a $238,496 installment of the award from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant, which will support the continued operation of SFCC’s TRiO/Student Support Services program, will total $1 million over the course of the next five years. Read more...


July 2009 - Los Alamos National Security has invested $100,000 in the new Sustainable Technologies Center at Santa Fe Community College. The funds were presented to SFCC President Sheila Ortego by LANS Executive Staff Director Jerry Ethridge at 9 a.m., July 16, in the President's Office at the SFCC campus. The college breaks ground on the $11.4 million STC on Aug. 14. Read more...


April 2009 - The college's Adult Basic Education program received $47,912 from the Ford Foundation and the New Mexico Higher Education Department's Adult Basic Education Division in February as part of NMHED's Adult Basic Education Transition to College and Career project. The project aims to help adult students develop work skills while learning basic education. Thirty SFCC students are currently enrolled in the project, which coordinates with programs in SFCC's School of Business and Applied Technologies, adult GED and English as a Second Language programs. March 2009 - Santa Fe Community College has been awarded $528,567 in three grants from the U.S. Department of Labor. The community college will use the funds - which were awarded through New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions and the U.S. Department of Labor Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) program - to develop and expand programs in green jobs and to provide student scholarships.
