The SFCC Governing Board

The SFCC governing board plays a critical role in setting the course for SFCC's future. The board establishes the policies and procedures necessary to effectively carry out the college's mission and advance the best interests of the students, faculty, staff and community. The board’s five elected members serve for overlapping six-year terms. Regular Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month.

Dr. Martha Romero, Chair,
Dr. Martha Romero is the former President of a community college in California. She established several leadership development institutes in Ca., one a community leadership program similar to Leadership Santa Fe and another to train community college leaders through Claremont Graduate University.

Dr. Romero teaches online occasionally and continues to work with community colleges as a leadership coach. She has been a board trainer through the University of Texas at Austin, CLaremont Graduate University and the Association of Governing Boards. She serves on the Board of Everest College Phoenix, a private for-profit college, and has served on the SIAS University Foundation Board. SIAS is an American University in rural China.

Ms. Kathy Keith, Vice Chair, is the Executive Director of the Regional Development Corporation, a regional economic development organization. She has more than 20 years of experience in public policy, including working in leadership positions in the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Department of Energy and the New Mexico Economic Development Department. She has worked across the nation as a consultant assisting states and communities in designing and implementing cutting-edge workforce development projects. Ms. Keith serves on the Santa Fe Business and Quality of Life Committee and is past President of the Tesuque Elementary PTA. She holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Political Science from Texas Tech University.

Mr. Pablo Sedillo, Secretary, is a government relations liaison for CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center. Mr. Sedillo was a field representative for former U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman from 2003-2012. He holds a bachelor’s degree from New Mexico Highlands University and serves on the university’s foundation board.

Ms. Linda Siegle, Member, is president of a consulting company focused on lobbying the legislature for non-profit agencies and strategic planning. She is a former member of the Santa Fe County Health Policy Commission and has served as chair of various state councils and committees.

Jack Sullivan, Member, served as a captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is a former New Mexico Youth Soccer Association coach and former president of the New Mexico Society of Professional Engineers. Mr. Sullivan holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Georgia Tech and earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from Stanford University.

Work Sessions (3:30 p.m.) and Board Meetings (5:00 p.m.) are scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month. (these dates are subject to change). The November meeting is scheduled for the third week of the month due to holidays, and it is a board option to eliminate the July and December meetings.

The Board Secretary needs all documentation (agenda items with background, PowerPoint presentations, governance group reports/minutes and policies) to include in the board packet and should be received 10-12 days prior to the board meetings.
