AQIP Action Projects at SFCC
As an AQIP institution, SFCC must have at least three formal AQIP Action Projects in progress at all times. These projects can take from 3 months to 3 years to complete, and are designed to document the college’s commitment to the use of formal quality improvement processes, to infuse energy and tangible results into the longer-term process of re-accreditation, and to engage faculty and staff in quality-and systems-based thinking.
The first Action Projects at SFCC focused on:
- Building a more efficient, student centered course schedule
- Creating a comprehensive student advising system
- Discovering ways to improve student writing, and
- Crafting a Quality approach to the Systems Portfolio Process
Subsequent Action Projects include:
- Learning-centered evaluation of classroom instruction
- Enhancing institutional effectiveness through improved communication
