Accreditation is the formal process by which colleges and universities are authorized to award college credit and degrees. Santa Fe Community College has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association (NCA) of Colleges and Schools since 1983, and its accreditation was last renewed in 2012. Our next reaffirmation will occur in 2019-20.
See the AQIP (Academic Quality Improvement Program) page for more information about SFCC's institutional accreditation.
The college also offers several programs that are separately accredited by the profession-specific accrediting organizations listed in the chart below.

The Santa Fe Community College Paramedic program has been issued a Letter of Review by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). This letter is NOT a CAAHEP accreditation status, it is a status signifying that a program seeking initial accreditation has demonstrated sufficient compliance with the accreditation Standards through the Letter of Review Self Study Report (LSSR) and other documentation. Letter of Review is recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for eligibility to take the NREMT's Paramedic credentialing examination(s). However, it is NOT a guarantee of eventual accreditation.
|SFCC is a NM JOE (Joint Organization for EMS Education) approved training institution.|
