Student Government Association

What is SGA?

SGA is the official governance group that represents the SFCC student body. SGA members work to make a difference on campus by representing the student perspective to the administration and various governance councils. They also provide a forum for students to engage in conversations regarding campus issues. SGA encourages and advocates for student involvement on campus by sponsoring student events, programs, and leadership opportunities.

SGA Membership

Students enrolled in at least one credit-bearing course are automatically members of the SGA, and are welcome to attend SGA meetings. Students earn voting rights at the third meeting they attend.

SGA officers Left to right: Jason Deleau, Max Barnett, Desiree Romero, Tomas Salas, Isaac DeLuna Navarro, Antonio Reyes, Calloway Bastien, Laura Lopez.

Make your voice heard and participate in SGA!

Meetings are every other Wednesday from 11:30am - 1:30pm in the Jemez Rooms.
SFCC Students, Faculty, and Staff can find information regarding SGA in the Student Activities tab on JACK. There you will find the most up to date information on meeting agendas, meeting locations, and upcoming activities and events sponsored by SGA.

Student Government Association Executive Council

The SGA Executive Council is composed of nine positions. There are four elected positions (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) and five appointed Senator positions. Elections are held each Spring, and elected and appointed terms are June thru May. The Executive Council members must maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 and spend approximately 5 - 10 hours a week conducting SGA business through office hours, SGA meetings, and shared governance council meetings.
