AQIP

Academic Quality Improvement Program

Santa Fe Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central region.

The college has been continuously accredited since 1983. In 2007, Santa Fe Community College was accepted into the AQIP Pathway (Academic Quality Improvement Program), an alternative accreditation process for organizations already accredited by the Commission. The AQIP Pathway requires the college to operate and maintain evidence of continuous quality improvement, as demonstrated by ongoing action projects and a systems portfolio. Quality, in this context, means the employment of the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle of problem-solving techniques: 

AQIP processes are directed by the AQIP Steering Committee.  Every four years SFCC completes a self-study entitled the Systems Portfolio, a comprehensive accreditation document that describes SFCC's processes and progress in the six AQIP categories:
