The Green Gala 2011 took place Friday, July 29, 5 to 8 p.m. in the new Trades and Advanced Technology Center. It was a sold-out smash success and the SFCC GROW Foundtion is grateful to all our volunteers, sponsors and guests for a wonderful community event. Some of the activities included:
- 2011 Awards for Green Student, Green Architect and the Lou Schreiber Award for Green Building
- Food Music Fun
- Entertainment by Wise Fool New Mexico and Lumbre del Sol Trio

Student Animation Design Winners
Media Arts students Angela Guzman and Paula Romero created the winning entries during the spring semester's animated invitation competition. Students in Media Arts 148 were challenged to design an electronic invitation for the SFCC GROW Foundation's Green Gala event celebrating the Trades and Advanced Technology Center. SFCC Assistant Professor Peter Taussig and Media Arts and Film Chair Marcia Reifman worked with students to develop skills in animation. Each student used this opportunity to explore their own creativity. The winning animations were created using Cinema 4D. Congratulations to Angela and Paula!
